Want to refresh your comfy nest for spring?

It’s time for spring cleaning and to refresh your nest, getting rid of gloomy colors and having a blast with creating your new environment! Are you ready for a light and airy décor?

I pulled together some simple ways to brighten up your home!

One reliable way to illuminate your home (aka “nest!”) is to add plenty of white with white or cream paint, white sheers, draperies, and white linens. Your home will feel so newly refreshed. The white sheers are a surprisingly inexpensive solution! Check out the price on Amazon!

Our surroundings can effect our moods by expressing either dark or light colors, presenting a cluttered or organized space and by creating relaxing or stressful energy. Sprinkling these colors around can create such a cheerful environment!

An easy and inexpensive way to accent with color is by using throw pillows on a couch, chair or bed…and with standard pillow sizes (18″ x 18″ for example), you can change your pillowcase colors to suit the season and your mood!

The color yellow represents happiness, optimism, enlightenment and reminds us of sunsets and sunrises.

Interestingly, “Illuminating” yellow is one of Pantone’s 2021 Colors of The Year!

Accents of pale pink bring in feelings of calm and are related to love and kindness.

A pale bright orange is a color of warmth, joy, enthusiasm and provides emotional strength.

To create balance between warm colors (yellow, orange and red) with cool colors (green blue and purple) it helps to add a few colors of each temperature.

Blues and greens remind us of water. Yellows, oranges, pinks and lavenders make us think of the colorful flowers of springtime.

The color trends of 2021 are rich warmer colors

Have to admit, I love this trend because the colors yellow, orange and pink are some of my most favorite. Imagine: “Bronze” is the latest happening neutral this year!

One of my favorite blogs, Porchdaydreamer.com has chosen the best of the best 2021 decorating colors palette…I couldn’t agree more!

Mint green is also popular this year. Orange and mint green look just smashing together! Here is a sample of “deep warm rose” which is replacing blush:
