People with gluten intolerance can find a host of new gluten-free foods much more available these days. I wanted to share information about some foods which would make the gluten-free lifestyle more convenient. There are new gluten-free frozen foods such as waffles, breads and pizzas in main stream grocery stores now. Here are a few:
Van’s Gluten-Free Frozen Waffles
Van’s Gluten-Free Frozen Waffles for breakfast (or lunch or dinner – no time constraints here!) are easily heated in the toaster. Melting dabs of butter on the warm waffle and drizzling organic maple syrup on top will make this quite a delish dish! These waffles are non-GMO, nut-free, kosher, contain no artificial flavors, egg-free, dairy-free, corn-free … More ways to serve this satisfying comfort food can be offered by adding fresh fruit on the side and/or scrambling up some eggs for a good helping of protein, if desired. Check out the price on Amazon!
Carrington Farms Gluten-Free Garden Herb Organic Crounons
Carrington Farms Gluten-Free Garden Herb Organic Crounons (croutons) can be added to a fresh greens and chopped veggie salad for lunch or dinner. These would offer an extra satisfying crunch and only add a few carbohydrates. Even better, they come in three flavors: Garden Herb, Garlic & Parmesan and Cracked Pepper with Sea Salt! Can purchase from Carrington Farms website!
Canyon Bakehouse Gluten-Free Heritage Style Whole Grain Bread
Canyon Bakehouse Gluten-Free Heritage Style Whole Grain Bread is thickly sliced, has larger slices than other GF breads and holds together well for sandwiches, toast and just about any other recipe that calls for bread, such as an egg casserole. A favorite of mine is a grilled cheese sandwich served with either tomato soup or marinara sauce for a fun and flavorful dipping experience! Yummmmee! Check out the price on Amazon!
Lundberg Organic Brown Rice Cakes
Lundberg Organic Brown Rice Cakes are gluten-free and taste great with almond butter (or any other nut butter) and honey, fresh preserves or your choice of cheese (or an alternative cheese if desire dairy-free) spread on top! Check out the price on Amazon!
Tinkyada Organic Brown Rice Pasta
Tinkyada Organic Brown Rice pasta has a great flavor and texture. I always cook it “el dente” to be sure it does not overcook and it also helps prevent it from turning out too mushy. The recipes for pasta are so numerous … from the basic meals being meatballs, meat sauce or simply cooked vegetables on top to more involved recipes such as lasagna, spinach lasagna (my favorite!). Of course, all pasta recipes taste so much better with parmesan cheese! My favorite brand is 4C Grated Cheese, all natural parmesan with NO cellulose powder. Check out the price on Amazon!
Rawr Bar Gluten-Free Protein Bars
These gluten free, dairy free, soy free bars use only high quality, plant based protein. As you may know, finding a GREAT TASTING grab-and-go, with low carbs/sugar and high protein is a challenge. A quick and easy snack (or meal!) which provides enough protein to feel satisfied. NOTE: a bit hard to find…best ordered directly from Rawr Organics (enjoy the compelling origin story while you are there)!
Simple Mills Gluten-Free Mixes
One of our family’s ALL time favs! Tasty and nutritious, Simple Mills Gluten-Free Pumpkin Muffin & Bread Mix, Cupcake & Cake Mix or Brownie Mix use ingredients including almond flour, organic coconut sugar, arrowroot, baking soda, sea salt … They also offer cake frostings for those special celebrations!
